For the External Communication & Public Affairs division at our headquarters in Brussels (near the train station and subway, see the map here) we’re looking for a Junior Corporate Spokesperson (m/f/x).

Job purpose

As Junior Corporate Spokesperson you communicate a positive brand image by adeptly handling relations with both national and international media. In collaboration with the Senior Spokesperson, you develop and convey clear and consistent public messages to promote, consolidate and maintain Fluxys' position.

Job
respon­sibilities

Media Relations

• As the media point of contact, you maintain regular contact with the press, briefing journalists, issuing press statements, dealing with questions and queries and organising interviews
• You promote Fluxys' role as a transporter of the green gas of tomorrow as part of the energy transition
• You define the best media channels and the most effective ways to communicate Fluxys' corporate message

Media Planning

• You set the media agenda regarding priority issues from a strategic, business and reputation perspective
• You prepare the contents of communications, including press releases, holding statements and Q&A documents
• You tailor how information is handled based on the degree of sensitivity of the issues involved
• You rely on media monitoring for early detection of upcoming issues and trends

Coordination of Group communications

• In light of Fluxys' global expansion, you collaborate with its affiliates to streamline and ensure effective communication within the Group
• You guide and support the business spokespeople when it comes to media activities (media training, interviews, briefings, etc.)
• You ensure effective communications between departments (Public Affairs, Internal Communication and Digital Media) and help to build an integrated and consistent communication strategy

Crisis communications

• You play an active role in the crisis communications team by initiating holding statements, press releases and Q&A documents

About you

Are you bright-minded ? Then we’re keen to meet you. What does that mean? For us it means you’re curious, alert and open to new realities and change, to others' ideas and individual differences and that you enjoy bringing new ideas.

For this role, you have:

• A master degree in engineering, science, business engineering, economics or communication
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a communication role
• A strong interest in the energy sector and the willingness to develop an in-depth knowledge of related activities
• Ideally some initial professional experience in the energy industry and a good knowledge of social media
• Excellent judgement
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (public speaking)
• The proven ability to build networks and interact diplomatically with key stakeholders in an international context
• The ability to work effectively under time pressure
• A perfect mastering of Dutch (both spoken and written) to act as the main point of contact for Dutch-speaking media outlets, with a very good knowledge of French and English
