For the External Communication & Public Affairs division at our headquarters in Brussels (near the train station and subway, see the map here) we’re looking for a European Public Affairs Advisor (m/f/x).
Job
purpose
As an experienced EU Public Affairs Advisor you will implement an effective public affairs strategy targeting EU institutions to ensure that Fluxys’ corporate strategy and policy objectives are understood, promoted and defended, predominately in connection with the energy transition.


Job
responsibilities
- Pro-actively follow issues of interest to Fluxys in the European Commission, European Council and European Parliament, monitor procedures and timelines, and debrief members in relevant associations
- Monitor the political and policy debate, ensuring the distribution of relevant information to colleagues within the Public Affairs team and to other teams, such as Regulatory Affairs and Strategic Intelligence
- Develop and maintain a personal network with key players in the EU institutions
- Contribute to Public Affairs events and outreach programmes initiated by sector associations
- Foster and coordinate multi-stakeholder (national governments, EU institutions, EU sectoral associations, multinational companies, NGOs) alliances to achieve common strategies and goals
- Promote and maintain regular contacts with EU institutional actors to engage in purposeful dialogues on key issues involving the energy transition and Fluxys’ contribution to a climate-neutral economy
- Support Fluxys Affiliates in defining and deploying their public affairs strategy to support country-specific advocacy projects
About
you

For this role, you have:
- A master’s degree, preferably in law, economics or political sciences
- 5 to 7 years of professional experience (be it in the European Commission, European Parliament, European Council, Member States’ Permanent Representation, or by representing private sector’s business in the EU)
- Solid knowledge of the European Union’s decision-making processes, legislative procedures and actors
- A good understanding of and keen interest in future energy and infrastructure issues
- A mindset for shaping new horizons, contributing with positive changes and working seamlessly within a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills so you can inspire others and foster dialogue
- Fluency in English, French and/or Dutch, with, preferably, knowledge of any other language
