For the Business Development (EU) division at our headquarters in Brussels (near the train station and subway, see the map here) we’re looking for an International Business Development Officer (m/f/x).

Job purpose

As an International Business Developer, you contribute to the growth strategy of Fluxys Group by leading and coordinating M&A transactions from start to completion.

You also identify and pursue business development opportunities and create long term partnerships to reinforce our strategic position in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Job
respon­sibilities

Market analysis

• Ensure constant full understanding of relevant market dynamics, potential, opportunities and identification of key stakeholders in Belgium, Europe and outside Europe.

• Identify key drivers and hurdles for further development of the relevant markets and ensure steps are undertaken to promote drivers and overcome hurdles.

Market development and scouting activities

• Engage discussions with the stakeholders involved and potential partners with the aim to develop market and/or collaborate or co-invest.
• When applicable negotiate cooperation agreements.

Business development

• Flag up and originate new business development projects.
• Collaborate to the set-up of the transversal team, to the selection of expert advisers and to the preparation of business cases as well as the thorough analysis of the project related risks.

• Ensure co-ordination with the internal departments of Fluxys involved in the project and with the expert advisers.
• Prepare the internal decision-making process and ensure implementation of decision, monitoring and its related reporting.

About you

• Master’s Degree in Engineering Sciences, Business Economics or similar.
• At least 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in industrial Business Development, preferably in the energy industry.
• You are able to manage Business Development projects autonomously, from the initial idea until final implementation.
• You can work transversally and are capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
• You have good entrepreneurial skills, are pro-active and results driven.
• You have a strong analytical mindset.
• You have excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• You are flexible and able to easily adapt yourself to a highly demanding environment.
• You are fluent in English with a good mastering of Dutch or French.
• You are eager to travel abroad frequently.
